Adam Donen and Jemma Kahn have both, this year, presented work featuring prominent men falling from grace. Both theatre makers, they have navigated off the stage and into new not-so-high-tech technology to bring Nixon in Agony and Steve Smith respectively to this year’s National Arts Festival. Neo Muyanga has excavated the well know hymn Amazing Grace, tracing the routes of the slaver and composer, weaving sound, animation, current and archive footage. They discuss character, power and making art in a time of COVID.
