Ashanti Tribe is a movement initiated by pianist and composer, Nobuhle Ashanti. A seasoned performer and student of music, Nobuhle launched her project in 2018. Growing up within Cape Town’s music industry, Nobuhle has been exposed to various authentic South African music genres (and sub-genres). Learning rich histories of the South African people came along with her music education, naturally, through studying legendary artists and their music. Thus, the fundamental concept of her project/movement “Ashanti Tribe” is to gather different artists, and together, celebrate heritage and heal – along with listeners.
