Heart of Gold

‘Heart of Gold’ is a solo contemporary dance film that tells the story of a family man who dies before paying back a loan shark. His widow suffers the consequences as the loan shark physically and emotionally harasses her in an effort to collect the debt. Community members become engulfed with rage and embark to deliver justice against the loan shark.

Thato Nkwe is a contemporary dance choreographer who has toured internationally with ‘The Lion King’ (2018 – 2020) and ‘Spartacus of Africa’ (2015), performing as an ensemble member and covering principal roles. Thato has made various appearances with Kmad Dance Company, performing in award-winning productions ‘Sins’ (2013) and ‘No Air’ (2014). He featured in Hip Hop artist Rouge’s music video ‘Sheba Ngwan’O’ as the sole dancer. As a dance teacher, Thato has taught at Hong Kong Disneyland and Joburg Ballet.
