Comics are a great medium for telling stories, but also for exploring our own. Kit Beukes is a storyboard artist for animation and comics who has worked on various projects including Meanwhile, a graphic novel anthology of queer stories from around Africa. Their story ‘Deadname’ appeared in Ignatz Award Winning anthology, ‘We’re Still Here: An All-Trans Comics Anthology’ in 2019. They are masterful in their character design and storytelling ability. This workshop will focus on how to tell personal stories meaningfully and effectively through the medium of comics.

Have your drawing materials ready and feel free to bring what you are working on to get some advice.
