ABOUT THE ARTISTS
“Best of Both Concerts” is a husband-and-wife pianist duo from Cape Town. Francois Botha (South Africa) and Yohan Chun (South Korea) have been collaborating since 2014 before they got married in 2018 so they had a lot of opportunity to perfect their act together. Between them, they have won numerous awards and performed at various concert halls and venues around South Africa as well as abroad.
Their passion lies in presenting concerts in a way that is accessible to a broader audience. In 2018, they started a concert series, “Best of Both Concerts” which presents classical as well as jazz in a single concert setting. This was a creative initiative born out of their love for both styles. Since Standard Bank Jazz Festival runs alongside the National Arts Festival, Best of Both will be focusing on satisfying the festival-goers’ classical music needs while also bringing an element of humour and entertainment to their act.
