The Pink Busters are four essential educators, entertainers and helpers of the community in this hard time of the virus. The Pink Busters project is a Creative History project supported by Isikhumbuzo Applied History Unit at Rhodes University, working in partnership with Dlala Majimboz a professional Makhanda pantsula dance group.
Both partners promote the spirit of fighting the impact of the Corona virus, through educating people about it and finding ways of preventing its spread. The performances highlight how stories of the past teach us that we know what it takes to survive and overcome.
In the spirit of Ubuntu and giving thanks to people who have spent countless hours, days and weeks in service to others, the Pink Busters bring a message of appreciation and motivation. Their humorous, energetic dancing celebrates life. The performances include analytical inputs, demonstrations using dance and poetry, as well as audience participation. A series of short pantsula sequences inspires us all to unite in these hard times.
