Temperance

Theatre / Rehearsal Room

Temperance – a work highlighting the importance of conversing with the subconscious mind – takes us on a deep dark journey of reconnecting with the self.
When Being, who represents humanity, becomes aware of his disconnection, he wrestles with what hinders him, confronts his past & in doing so returns to inner truths & resources.
Through the illusion of lights, surreal settings & physical movement, we travel through a roller coaster of emotions reflecting both the utter agony & pure peace which form part of the process for reconnecting to self.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Fabiano di Giandomenico is a 20 year-old South African/Italian actor based in Johannesburg. He is completing his BA Degree in Theatre & Performing Arts at the University of the Witwatersrand. grandmother in the performing arts, Fabiano believes performance is in his DNA.
Fabiano has always been interested and had a flair for dramatic and abstract works and has a deep admiration for physical theatre. As someone who aims to become an independent filmmaker and theatre practitioner, Fabiano is focused on self-devised work where he writes, directs, and performs in his own pieces. As part of his final matric exam, in which he scored a mark of 91%, Fabiano devised a physical piece named “Loss” which follows the 5 stages of grief. In 2023 he wrote and directed “Temperance”, a piece which touches on the importance of conversing with the subconscious mind. He is very much a person who aims to create original, avant-garde, and emotional works which
stimulate their audiences in unconventional ways. Having completed his Springbok Scout Badge and having been the President of his school’s Student Council, Fabiano is someone who embodies the belief of “Go big or go home”.
With an interest in project planning, a deep appreciation and love for nature and a desire for social upliftment, Fabiano aims to create works which either function as a form of healing, awareness, or education.
