The Very Big Comedy Show has become a staple on the National Arts Festival calendar and has always showcased the cream of SA comedy talent. This year promises to be no different, with a lineup as diverse as possible to ensure the broadest audience appeal. Rob Van Vuuren will once again take charge as the host for the evening. With decades of experience playing at the festival, Rob always ensures that adoring fans are left with an experience far greater than their expectations. Newcomers to the 2023 line up will include Yaaseen Barnes and Lisa Bobbert (McIlroy). While they may both be first timers on the Very Big Comedy Show stage, they are not strangers to the fest. Lisa has been performing at NAF almost since its inception, while Yaaseen won an Ovation Award for comedy in 2022. Mojak Lehoko & Khanyisa Bunu will return to the VBCS stage. The last time we hosted them was during the ‘online version’ of the VBCS so they will be chuffed to bring their A-game in front of an actual live audience. Two-time Emmy nominated ventriloquist, Conrad Koch & his sidekick, Chester Missing will have the honor of headlining this star-studded lineup.
