White Noise | Starring Chester Missing & Conrad Koch

South Africa’s most famous puppet, Chester Missing, wants to have THAT conversation on race. In this hilarious, searing comedy hour Chester Missing will confront his white handler, double EMMY nominated satirical ventriloquist, Conrad Koch, about his own racism, his own privilege and his own journey to understanding South Africa. We get to laugh at him and his many, many mistakes. The pair are guided by Conrad’s Master’s Degree in social anthropology. Jokes with research, yay.

The truth is that racism is like bad décor. Unless you actually deal with it, it’s still there. In this show Chester Missing hilariously proposes (to Conrad, so you get to judge him first) that instead of ignoring apartheid, and colonialism, and how they shaped us, let’s face them together, with jokes. The experience is interactive, and will involve suggestions and comments from you, the audience. It promises to be a belly-laugh-packed, yet thought provoking online experience. Roll in the aisle, in your lounge. This conversation has been left for too long, and in the face of COVID 19, and the inequality it has perpetuated, it cannot be ignored. Even if your name is Carl Niehaus. Chester Missing’s view is that the Rainbow Nation is something we are working towards, not a goal that we have reached. In the last year the pair have honed their virtual shows into a razor sharp multimedia experience, so get ready to be tickled by funny latex on the internet… Chester is the latex.
