ABOUT THE ARTISTS

MARILIZE DU PLESSIS
Marilize is a South African actor, radio presenter and writer with two drama degrees from Stellenbosch University as well as a one-year Conservatory in Acting for Film from the New York Film Academy. She also has six years of commercial radio presenting experience. While the pandemic was a trying time for artists, especially in South Africa, Marilize was fortunate to have been able to gain additional experience working in Hollywood – learning skills in front and behind the camera. She likes to describe herself as a couch-based movie critic as her love of film and theatre is woven into the fabric of who she is.

ELIZABETH VAN VUUREN
Elizabeth studied drama at the University of Stellenbosch and graduated with an Honours degree – specialising in
directing. Currently, she is also focusing on completing her Masters degree. She has worked in the entertainment industry as a makeup artist on both local and international productions and commercials and also moonlights as a wedding photographer. Since graduating, Elizabeth has been part of multiple theatre productions that were showcased at festivals across the country, including Wordfees, Suidoosterfees and the National Arts Festival. Before the pandemic, she made her TV debut on the South African soapie, Suidooster, and is actively involved in creating quality entertainment across multiple platforms.

JOS NEL
From a young age, Jos had a burning passion for theatre, ever since the first grade when he competed in poetry recitation at the Tygerberg Eisteddfod. Later, he won several ATKV-tienertoneel awards, and in 2019, played Aslan in the Playhouse Theatre production of The Chronicles of Narnia. He has starred in a number of ‘Butlers’ productions at the National Arts Festival, including the Ovation Award-winning Butlers and Billionaires and Butlers and Bridesmaids. Jos holds a degree in Psychological Counselling and currently works as an English editor for Pixelogic Media.

CJ BERGH

(including ‘Butlers’, A Play On Words), stage productions (Butlers), fashion shows (UCT), video games (GetRekt), short
films (Genero; CityVarsity; AFDA), documentaries (Mr SA; Four Returns; Art of Flight) and podcasts (From The Perspective Of; Air It). CJ is also a music educator and counsellor and is passionate about teaching the health benefits
of music. In between his studies and tinkering with new musical instruments, he also performs with different music
ensembles, from jazz to rock.

JUSTIN WILKINSON

In addition, he also serves as a creative consultant on a number of projects and even finds time to serve as a mentor to up-and coming actors in the industry.
