ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Born and raised in Langa Township, Cape Town, Khanyiso Kenqa grew up with an unlikely pair of parents – a taxi boss father and police officer mother. However, their unique relationship
ultimately led him down the path to become a successful standup comedian. Using his energetic and fast-paced delivery, Khanyiso offers a fresh perspective on life in South Africa – from
political and social issues to everyday observations with a twist inspired by his own experiences. His comedic style primarily focuses on his daily relationships, particularly with his lady and her son, providing hilarious relatable material guaranteed to leave audiences in stitches. As a professional tour guide for over 17 years, Khanyiso considers himself privileged to share his extensive knowledge of Cape Town – its rich history and natural beauty – with both local and international visitors. He is particularly renowned for his witty “lost in translation” pieces and his unique take on the different nationalities he meets. In addition to performing regularly on the comedy circuit and at corporate events, Khanyiso has also appeared in various commercials, including the Southern Sun “You’ve Arrived” campaign and the Vodacom “Goes Red” ad. He’s also featured in popular sitcoms and drama series. Despite struggling with dyslexia, Khanyiso’s experience as a tour guide has given him ample material to work with, from being an ill-informed guide to becoming an opinionated and knowledgeable one. Join Khanyiso on his laugh-out-loud journey, as he shares his hilarious take on tourists and experiences with zero respect for tour guide- tourist confidentiality.
