Revered South African Jazz musician Nduduzo Makathini has approached Sakhile Simani and Qhawekazi Giyose to put together a constellation of musicians in concert.  Simani proposes to base his presentation on notions of belonging with a specific focus on his community in Mdantsane. While Giyose thinks about making way for the old (cultural, musically and otherwise) in current discourses with a focus on how that could provide some aid in dealing with living in this time

Some questions Makathini poses to Simani and Giyose during the process include: When did music become a thing?  What are the underpinning ideologies or philosophies in your sound?  How have you been keeping creative and positive under lockdown?

Currently musicians have been rehearsing and the film treatment has been done.  Without confirmation of funds withdrawn, the project is paused, payment to Nduduzo, producer Kay Mosiane or the musicians for work completed today cannot be made.
