If you want to get on top of your timeline for planning a 2018 trip to the National Arts Festival, here are the dates to flag.

2 April – The first of a select range of must-see shows will go live for booking. Keep an eye on our social media feeds – and make sure you stay subscribed to FEST44 to keep your spot at the front of the queue.

7 May – All shows open for booking when the full National Arts Festival programme will be available on the website.

21 May – The National Arts Festival printed programme will be available at selected Exclusive Books and Standard Bank branches, as well as at some theatres across South Africa.

28 June  – The National Arts Festival begins with a packed 11-day programme of incredible shows, discussions, public art, entertainment and more.

7&8 July – The Annual Street Parade will close the the National Arts Festival. This event involves the whole community of Grahamstown in a colourful celebration of costumes, dance and music.
