Trombonist Adrian Mears grew up in Australia, studied jazz at the Sydney Conservatorium, and has lived, taught and performed in Europe since 1991. He has performance and recording credits with the likes of the Vienna Art Orchestra, Kenny Wheeler, Bob Brookmeyer New Art Orchestra, McCoy Tyner`s Big Band, Bobby Shew, James Morrison, Paquito DiRivera and Joey Calderazzo and has performed at festivals all around the world. He is a prolific composer and has been commissioned to compose for settings as diverse as Bach, Suite for Didgeridoo and Chamber Orchestra with jazz trio and wind ensemble, and a 60-voice Choir. He has been Professor at the Basel Musik Academie (Switzerland) for Trombone and Ear Training for the past 20 years.
