Ends in Tears! is a theatrical story about a man who experienced sexual abuse during his childhood, which resulted in him growing up with anger towards women. Though he is a respected Detective in his community, his anger towards his own wife when he gets home undercuts that. She does what she can to protect her daughter and not lose the home they have.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Writer & Director: Mr. Joseph Moloko
Joseph has been in the industry for more than 20 years, and is still growing every day and passionate about Theatre work. He is the co-founder and Director at Tubatse Creations, overseeing Productions, Scripts Development and Overall Management of the Company. He was awarded Best Director in 2007 at Masakhane Arts & Culture Festival, Best Playwright, Best Producer, Best Director and Best Production for Ends in Theatre Play at Telling Stories Arts Festival in 2022. Awarded Most Promising (Position 2) Theatre Play for Ends in Tears Play at Taung Calabash Arts Festival in 2022. He was awarded Best Novice Director, Most Promising Production (Position 2) and Best Actor in Supporting Role for INYEMBEZI – The Tears in 2017 at SANCTA Theatre Festival. He has staged Ends in Tears Play at the National Arts Festival 2022 (South Africa) and is the technical Director for UNONTOMBI Musical Theatre at National Arts Festival 2013 (South Africa).

Performer: Mrs. Lerato Vinolia Hlatywayo
Lerato is a 30-year-old female passionate with Performing Arts and Youth Development. She is an events MC, Local Radio and TV Personality at Star FM Community Radio Station and Platinum North West (PLNWTV). She is a writer for Theatre Plays and Short Film, one of the main characters on Ends in Tears and Love – Lerato Musical. She is the Co-Founder and Director at Tubatse Creations overseeing Productions and Special Projects. She has performed at the National Arts Festival 2022, Mmabana Taung Calabash 2021, Matlosana Theatre Show 2021, Matlosana Theatre Show 2022 and Telling Stories Arts Festival 2022.

Technical Director: Mr. Koketso Sehemo
Koketso is a 20-year-old male passionate about Setswana Dance and choreography. He is a former member of Dikwena Tsa Matlosana Cultural Dance Group in North West, and started performing as a dancer at 13 years old. He has received different awards in Cultural dance events such as; Best Young Setswana Dancer in North West, The Promising Cultural dancer. He performed at the National Arts Festival 2019 as a main character in the musical play called “The Road to Stradom”under Dikwena Tsa Matlosana. He also performed at Mmabana Taung Calabash as a Cultural Dancer 2020 and 2021. He is a member of the “Ends in Tears” Production performed at the National Arts Festival 2022 as a Technical Director and Stage Management. He is the Co-Founder and Director at Chilies Records.

Props/Stage Manager and a Dancer: Ms. Masego Phashe
Masego is a 22-year-old female passionate in performing arts in general, and is a former Cultural Dancer at Dikwena Tsa Matlosana, where she was one of their Best Female Dancers for 5 years. She also performed as a female lead on “Road to Stardom” Musical Play at the National Arts Festival in 2019 and performed as a Dancer for “Ends in Tears” during the 2022 National Arts Festival. She loves working with children and even considering starting a Kids Theatre Project. She is the Co-Founder and Director at Chilies Records and Props Manager at Tubatse Creations. She has performed at Mmabana Taung Calabash as a Cultural Dancer 2020 and 2021 and at Telling Stories Arts Festival 2022 and as a Dancer for “Ends in Tears”.

Lead Singer: Ms. Merrysam Motsumi
Merrysam is a 28-year-old female passionate in performing arts in general and most especially in music. She is a former Soloist at Matlosana Secondary School and represented her school at a Provincial level. She has performed at Mmabana Taung Calabash Festival 2022 under Music category.

Dancer: Ms. Mathapelo Lemawane
Mathapelo is a 29-year-old female passionate about the performing arts. She started performing at Primary School. She has performed with Thuto ke Bokamoso and Simunye ma Afrika in different Arts/Theatre Festivals.
