ABOUT THE ARTISTS

The World of Art Movement is a Non-Profit Company based at Mdantsane Arts Centre, and specialising in Drama, Poetry, Storytelling, Music, Photography and Modelling. The Movement consists of 7 members. The band has shared the stage with so many artists (both locally and nationally), and has performed widely, including at Phaphama Cultural Festival, Embo Cultural Festival, Mdantsane Arts Centre Festival, Mr/Miss Berlin November Activation Tour, Arts and Culture Festival, Makhanda National Arts Festival, Arts and Culture Social Cohesion Dialogue, and ZIngce Arts Festival.

The band is running a Street/Public Art Programme, where members host pop up soul sessions in public spaces for donations. The band established the World of Art Souls Sessions which is another stream of income and the sessions have been hosted in various venues, including Rainbow Pub and Grill, Beachfront Lounge, Vegas Eatery and Pub and Ekoneni Butchery. The World of Art Movement is running a Child Development Programme called Iingcambu Zempumelelo Creative Arts. The programme is in partnership with primary schools, high schools and special schools and we have an Annual Event which was launched in 2018 called Inkcubeko Yomntwana Arts Festival.
